Our Packaging Information

OUR PACKAGING INFORMATION:

When it comes to recycling. The UK has come a long way in the last 20 years, but what you can recycle and where still varies depending on your local council.

When it comes to the cardboard box that comes with your Home Delivery from Earths Pantry, we have managed to make it 100% recyclable … but it does require a bit of effort on your part. We are working to make it easier and, at the same time, kerbside recycling is improving across the country, but this is how to do it currently:

  • The box and paper bags go into paper recycling.
  • The insulation is made from 100% felted British sheep’s wool. It can be reused, once you remove it from its wrapper, it can go in the organic waste or on the compost heap. It is completely biodegradable.
  • The transparent recyclable plastic bags/tubs/glass can be recycled at the majority of local supermarkets.

We are often asked if our products are organic, and this is will always be our response: as much as possible we aim to source organic, but we cannot claim that they are 100% organic. An organic certification is desirable but not always realistic, especially for some of our small farmers who quite simply cannot afford the costly application process required.
